Norley Hall Tenants and Residents
Norley Hall Tenants and Residents is a team of like minded volunteers from the community of Norley Hall. We work to bring our estate together and raise the community community spirit.
Our most important aim is to bring together the community and reduce the discrimination that separates people. This is why we concentrate our efforts on helping those experiencing financial hardship, are disabled or have a long term illness, are isolated and over 50's.
What we do?
. Provide support to families, youths, over 50's and other vulnerable members of the community
. Take care of the estate by having community clean up days, listening to the communities issues and finding a resolution, make referrals to other groups/services, work with individuals and groups to make the estate a better place to live, visit and work.
. Organise trips, events and activities that benefit the community and/or meet our criteria
Where does our funding come from?
Our volunteers raise money all year round to top up any out of house funding we receive.
As a small group we normally only receive small grants from local sources.
Over the 5 years we have been running your local Pemberton ward Councillors have backed and supported the group financially and by attending our meetings and helping on events.
Who do we work with?
At present we work with local groups/organisations who have similar aims to ours. We also work with various departments in Wigan council (housing, environmental, ASB team, and others), GMP- west ward, and of course your local Councillors.
Who can attend our meetings?
Anyone in the norley hall area/pemberton ward is welcome to attend our meetings. We are non-discriminate and are always happy to see new faces.
If you are a group, organisation or service that operates in our area please feel free to come along and tell us what you do and how it benefits our community.
Free Services: Mixed
where ever possible we make events and activities free to members of our community by gaining funding or fundraising. if we are unable to provide the services for free, we do try to keep it as affordable as possible. we have a regular under 13's disco which has a small charge on to cover costs of the project.
