AppleCast Limited

Apple Cast North West (Formerly Cast North West) offers a safe environment for young people, and adults with additional needs, to achieve through the sport of angling. We are based in Newburgh, Wigan and cover many surrounding areas in the local borough.

Many of the young people we support face a number of complex barriers that prevent them from achieving in education or training and are in danger of becoming long term unemployed and socially and economically excluded. We build confidence, self-esteem, respect and resilience and from a foundation of trust with their learning mentors we are able to help them to learn.

We also offer horticulture, conservation, fish breeding, aquaponics, agriculture and bespoke woodwork shops to compliment the existing fishery management qualifications and angling tuition.

Our second development phase will see the introduction of rare breed animals, sensory gardens, community angling club and two respite facilities. This is due to be completed by March 2019. This will enable us to offer a wide range of community activities for local people and will be designed to improve wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
